MESPA conference

I had the wonderful opportunity to hear Educational Expert Michael Fullan speak today while I was at the MESPA conference.  His website notes that he..."is a worldwide authority on educational reform with a mandate of helping to achieve the moral purpose of all children learning."

Some powerful learning happening here, both from him and from the many other principals around the state of Massachusetts!

Barrows Read-A-Thon Assembly

What an awesome celebration of reading we had on Friday at Barrows Elementary!  I was so impressed with the students, and their cheers and celebrations of the minutes read by each class and grade-level.  Students far exceeded their goal... which lead to a full-staff chicken dance in celebration!

Please enjoy this haikudeck by Lucy Whitelam of our assembly. More pictures will come soon!

I had the wonderful opportunity to contribute to this research and paper that was recently presented at a research conference - exciting stuff! :)

Barrows Open House

What a lovely evening!  This was my first Barrows Open House, and I was so impressed with the work that students have created and also with the fantastic turnout from our community!  What a wonderful evening to celebrate all of the efforts of our Shining Stars!
